LOS ANGELES – May 29, 2018
Famed Musicians and Entertainment Execs extend Global Peace Song Awards entry date to Sept. 1, 2018
Stewart Copeland of The Police and Tim Kring of TV Show Heroes are amongst World-famed Grammy-winning musicians, Music, TV Executives and Film producers who will vote on songs, spoke word poems, and music videos that promote the message of peace.
Los Angeles, (Issuewire.com) - LOS ANGELES – May 29, 2018 — The Global Peace Song Award (GPSA) have decided to keep the song, music video, and new spoken word category entry and submittal date open until September 1, 2018.
The GPSA, represents the first known worldwide search for the most spiritually enlightening music, spoken-word poetry and music videos that promote the message of peace. 2018 Song, Spoken World, and Music Video winners will be announced on December 25th, 2018, Christmas Day.
The recent GPSA winner contest ceremonies for 2017 was held at the grand First Congregational Church of Los Angeles, with its world-famed pipe organ. The awards ceremony was also sponsored by EmpowerWithArtsProductions.org, live-streamed compliments of Hubcast Media and then TV broadcast to some 20 million homes through MTC MelliTV.
The GPSA was the brainchild of Steve Robertson, Founder/CEO of ProjectPeaceOnEarth.org which is based in Los Angeles, CA. Famed Jury Panel members for the 2018 GPSA contest consisted of: Maria Conchita Alonso (Latin Pop Star), Stewart Copeland (Grammy Winner, The Police), Randy Copus (New Age group 2002), Jonathan Elias (Elias Arts/The Prayer Cycle albums), Trinh Hoang Hai (Entrepreneur & Musician), Peter Joseph (Producer/Director of the Zeitgeist Film Series), David Joyce (Grammy Winner best Jazz Vocal group), Sangeeta Kaur (2017 GPSA Grand Prize Winner), Tim Kring (TV producer Touch & Heroes), Steve Robertson (Founder of ProjectPeaceOnEarth.org), Joanne Shenandoah (Native American Singer/Song Writer), Ralph Simon (business executive, co-founder of Zomba Group and Jive Records), Sean Stone (Actor, Director & Producer) and Peter Yarrow (legendary Folk Singer & Peace Activist of Peter, Paul & Mary).
In the 2018 GPSA there are eight different categories of music contestants can submit to: New Age/Ambient, World Music/World Beat/Acoustic / Contemporary Instrumental, Country/Folk, Classical/Opera/A Cappella/Choral, Jazz, Hip Hop / R & B, Spoken Word, Rock / Pop, and one Music Video category.
All Contestants have three ways to win: 1) Jury Panel voting that consisted of famed jury members who voted on songs from the genres of music they were most known for. 2) Public Voting enabled each of the 11 category finalists to invite the public to vote on their songs or videos. 3) And the last way to win was through social media, in essence, to become the musician or video with most overall Facebook likes and reaches. Winners of each music category have the chance to win a wide variety of career empowering and furthering prizes.
GPSA Founder Steve Robertson stated, “The present-day reality of world conflict is calling for musicians, spoken-word poets, and video producers to rise up and inspire new visions for peace and caring for one another. We are profoundly honored to offer the GPSA contest to all artists who want to make a difference in our world. ”
The GPSA is unique in that it puts contestants entries directly in front of major Grammy Winners, World-famed Music, TV, Film Executives and Thought-leaders who are likely to note the importance of their talents and creative humanitarian contributions.
Robertson continues, “In order to meet the demand of musicians, spoke-word poets and music video producers who wanted to be heard, make a difference we decided to extend the final GPSA contest submittal date to September 1, 2018. This is a call to all great artists around the world to inspire peace.”

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 13, 2016 /PRNewswire-iReach/ – The Global Peace Song Awards, a brainchild of Steve Robertson, Founder & CEO of Project Peace on Earth (PPOE) and Ricky Kej, Grammy® Winning Artist , has called out to Musicians and Music Video creators around the world to submit their most inspired and empowering works towards the message of World Peace.

Steve Robertson said: “We decided to extend the last date of submission for our first Annual contest because of several requests from Musicians who are very keen to participate but are short on time due to their nominations at the upcoming Grammy® Awards. They want to have their voices heard given the critical and current state of affairs of our World”
Ricky Kej added, “Some people seem to have forgotten that it were the Musicians who brought an end to the Vietnam War. And I believe that it will be the Musicians, if they choose to rise up, who will bring lasting peace, once and for all, to our World”
He also said, “The Global Peace Song Awards contest serves as a search for our World’s most enlightened musicians, songs and videos that can guide the way to peace on earth. We want to encourage everyone to enter! Now, more than ever, it is time for great musicians to call for Peace and reach the hearts of the people and leaders around the World”
Robertson and Kej voiced, “Weapons and Wars can only speak in terms of our differences, horror and destruction. Inspired Music speaks to hearts of goodness that which we all have in common. Great music serves to empower us to know our truest self and express our greatest potential. When music rises to this calling our World will be transformed. This goal of a World transformed into ‘Peace’ is what we have both set- out to accomplish with the Global Peace Song Awards”.

When we are touched by inspired music we come to know our true self and what unites us with others, in common love and peace. This the goal to which music can best achieve, and this is the goal we have both set out for with the Global Peace Song Awards. The invitation the AWARDS sends out to all musicians all around the world is: ’INSPIRE US TO REALIZE WORLD PEACE.’
Project Peace on Earth (PPOE) is a hybrid profit/humanitarian company founded for the global promotion and attainment of peace through globally broadcasting concerts of sacred music from sacred sites. The UN first brought world attention to PPOE for its famed 2011 Picasso Peace Dove / Love All image in Jericho which was esteemed as one of the 49 most iconic images (out of 800,000 photos) in the history of the UN. This same year PPOE produced a Christmas Day fundraising concert from Bethlehem for UNRWA that went out to 80 million homes.
