By: Project Peace On Earth Steve Robertson, Founder of the Peace Song Awards, said, "We're thrilled to have Siedah join us as one of our new Jury Panel members. She has been a good friend for a long time. Her amazing song 'Man in the Mirror' has always brought me to tears; it is an inspirational benchmark that our Peace Song Awards aspire to in empowering all musicians to guide humanity towards greater inner and outer peace with their music." Robertson continues, "We rebranded our contest to ensure that audiences and artists realize our focus on the message of peace, which distinguishes it from other music contests and awards. Our final 2018 submittal date of November 1st allows a bit more time to promote and inspire additional submittals, especially for artists in the Pop Music category who want to embrace the chance for Siedah to hear their music this year!" Siedah Garrett is a GRAMMY®Award- Robertson adds, "Imagine the potential for one's music career to have your song, spoken word poem or music video about 'peace' heard and/or seen by our graciously esteemed jury panel members like Siedah Garrett (GRAMMY®-winning Pop Star), Conchita Alonso (Multi-platinum Latin singer), Stewart Copeland (Grammy Winner, The Police), Randy Copus (New Age group 2002), Jonathan Elias (Elias Arts/The Prayer Cycle albums), Peter Joseph (musician and Director of the Zeitgeist Movie series), Trinh Hoang Hai (Musician and Humanitarian) The Peace Song Awards offers ten submission categories for contestants: Contestants may win in several ways, including: 1) a Jury Panel member vote, 2) a contestant-invitational for Public/Fan voting 3) a Social Media award for the most overall Facebook likes and/or reaches of a song or video. There is also a Grand Prize category that is chosen by the most Jury Panel members votes. Last year we were honored by the sponsorship of Empower with Arts Productions, the First Congregational Church of Los Angeles (including the use of their world-famed pipe organ and stunning sanctuary), and Hubcast Media, who joined with Fritz Heede to capture a live feed of the show, distributing it to approximately 20 million homes through MelliTV. What an honor it was, and is, to continually discover such amazing world-changing talent, celebrate them and share their genius with our world."
